Stuff We've Done and Are Working On

July 2001
On July 14th we went to see a musical play about the life of Stonewall Jackson at the Lime Kiln Theater in the Blue Ridge Mountains.  The play was great, but the theater was fantastic, built in the ruins of an old lime mine with all the old kilns all around us.  It was a night well worth the trip, and we then camped out at the Edmondson's place in the Blue Ridge.

We went from the Edmondson Homestead to summer camp  at Camp Shenandoah in the Shenandoah Valley (now, doesn't that make sense?)  (again, check out the photo's).  This year was one of the best summer camps we've had, according to most of those I've talked to.  Everyone earned a bunch of merit badges and 4 adult (I use the term loosely) leaders went.  I'll tell you from personal experience, us big guys had a rough time keeping up with our partially disabled Leader, but I have to give it to you Mr. Edmondson, I don't think I'd have done half as well if it were me on crutches!

January 2002

A little late this year, but on Monday the 18th we went to visit the veterans at the Spinal Cord Injury Ward  at the VA Hospital in Hampton.
